Off 61 - Christian Southern Rock and Blues

The band's genesis goes back to the early '80s when three of the members were just teenagers.  Tim Osborn, John Wilson, and Stephen King were just having fun learning to play.  Time moved on they headed to college, chased careers, and had families.  Then over the last few years they migrated home.  Now, imagine those jam sessions some 30 years later.  The love of music is still there.  The skill has improved.   The faith has grown deeper. 

Through those sessions the desire to reach out grew.  But an important element was missing from the music - a great drummer!  After a lot of prayer and searching, they found Garret Walker.  Garret may be the newest member of the band but he fits in like he's been there since the beginning.  

Off 61 has many musical influences from Christian artists like Mylon LeFevre, DeGarmo and Key, Petra, Will McFarlane, Jonny Lang, Rev. Jimmie Bratcher, and DecemberRadio, to the secular artists like Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, Charlie Daniels, VanHalen, Joe Satriani, and U2.  Among other influences are the classic blues artists like B. B. King, Freddie King, and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and the new blues artists such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Mayer, and many others.  All of these influences have been boiled down into Off 61's style.  The music is loud, upbeat, and soulful.  With passion, they belt out tunes that get you moving and lyrics that share the message of the good news of Jesus Christ.
